The program isn't locked up, is it? It did that to me the first time I went to install. Try manually killing it [Ctrl + Alt + Delete, kill the running app] and running it again.

Firewall? Router?
Guild Wars requires the following port(s) to be open: TCP: 6112 Last edited by Darkmane; Apr 27, 2005 at 04:58 AM // 04:58.. |

Try lowering the level of your security settings. I know when I ramped my security down a couple notches it blew through the install in about two minutes (after about four hours with the same problem as you).

Are you going to tell me whether you have a firewall or router that may need a port open? What kind of connection do you have to the Internet .. is this at home, work, school, dial up? DSL? Cable?

Well if the information I read is correct. You Shaw Secure is a firewall also? Running two firewalls at the same time can cause multiple issues. What other firewall are you using? You will likely have to turn both off and uninstall one and reboot then configure one correctly with GuildWars and reboot again to get it to work for you.
